What happens if
I stop paying?
A fair thing to ask before you sign up for anything monthly. Here is the honest answer, and the promise behind it: your website is always yours, and you can leave anytime with your files.
Nobody wants to feel trapped. When something is billed monthly, the very first question worth asking is "what happens if I want out?" We would rather answer that plainly up front than have you wonder about it, so here it is.
Your website is always yours
This is the promise, and it is a simple one. The website we build is yours, full stop. If you ever decide to cancel, we take your site down from our hosting and hand you the finished files so you can take them anywhere you like. No holding your site hostage, no making you beg for your own work back. You leave with what you paid for.
Your website is always yours. Leave anytime, and take the finished files with you.
That is the difference between renting your website and being locked out of it. With us you are never locked out. The monthly plan is a service you choose to keep because it is genuinely handy, not a leash.
So why a monthly plan at all?
Fair question, if the site is yours to keep. The answer is that a website is not a build-it-and-walk-away thing. There is real, ongoing work behind the scenes that keeps it healthy:
- Hosting: keeping your site live on the fast network it lives on.
- Security and monitoring: watching over it so problems get caught early.
- Backups: keeping safe copies so nothing is ever truly lost.
- Edits: you email us when you want a change, and we make it. No dashboard to learn.
The monthly plan is what pays for all of that so you never have to think about it. When you stop paying, that ongoing care stops too, which is why the site comes down from our hosting. But the site itself, the finished work, still goes home with you.
The honest details
A couple of things we say plainly so there are no surprises. Monthly fees already paid are not refunded, since the hosting and care for that time was already provided. But there is no lock-in and no long contract keeping you in place. You can leave whenever you want.
And if you would rather not think about a monthly bill at all, you can pay annually and get two months free. Same website, same care, less admin. Either way, the ownership promise does not change.
The short version
- Your website is yours. If you cancel, we hand you the finished files.
- The site comes down from our hosting, but it never stops being yours.
- The monthly plan covers hosting, security, monitoring, backups, and your edits.
- Fees already paid are not refunded, but there is no lock-in, ever.
- Pay annually and get two months free.
